October 25, 2014
The Memorial Plaque features the names of the "feeder schools,"
the original one-room schools that many west Henderson County students
attended prior to the opening of Etowah High School in 1928:
Big Willow, Blantyre, Boylston, Etowah, Hopewell, Horse Shoe,
Oak Forest, Pleasant Grove, Rymer (Rhymer), Yale

Thank you, Harold and Norman Allison, for building the monument to hold the plaque, featuring original bricks from the 1928 school along the capstone and base. Bricks generously provided by members of the Etowah community.
